The ArQuives is the world’s largest independent collection of LGBTQ+ documentary heritage, dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and collecting the stories and histories of LGBTQ2+ people in Canada since 1973.

The unique collection at The ArQuives plays an important cultural role as a resource to academics, historians, documentary filmmakers, artists, writers and playwrights, giving voice to the lives, the struggles, and accomplishments of LGBTQ2+ communities.

We hold a wide range of pieces, including memorabilia, pins, t-shirts, periodicals, audio and video documentation, oral histories, personal papers, organizational records, and so much more.
